This radar system will be able to cover all Afghanistan Airspace above 27,000 feet and will be used for approach at Mazar International Airport. The main topics discussed were Technical solutions, operations, Training and Transition Plans. Both sides shared their ideas about safety assessment, and possible hazards, limitation, and risks that may occur when the system is fully operational.
In addition, the solutions for solving the unacceptable and tolerable hazards has been discussed during this workshop, and ACAA experts provided the required information to DFS experts .
In course of this workshop THALES project engineer presented information about the MLAT approach of Mazar-e-Sharif international airport, ACAA team also visited the PHOENIX ATC system of the DFS Company
